COURSE DESCRIPTION Prerequisite: ART 106, 108, 204. Principles and techniques of advanced fashion design. Analysis of interrelationship among materials, fashion design, and the human figure. Emphasis on draping techniques.

 

TOPICS TO BE COVERED:

  • Draping techniques for garment production
  • Hand drawn Fashion Illustration
  • Research and developing concept development
  • Producing Final pattern from draped muslin
  • Choosing Fabrics
  • Sewing techniques for final garments
  • Critically analyze garments

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES Student will have the ability to verbally and visually articulate design ideas, drape and trace a pattern, construct garments from patterns, and critically analyses the outcomes.

MATERIALS/ FEES – Sewing Tools, Flat Pattern tools, and fabric

FEES – $10 machine / dress form maintenance.
